Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has had a challenging year, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - led to him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.

"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had led observers to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an better serve.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.

The opponent defended four early chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
